Surounded by the beautiful garden and lake, the impressive Frederiksborg is the largest Renaissance Castle in Scandinavia. It was built at the beginning of 17 century as a royal residence for Danish King Christian IV and since 1878 it is the Museum of National history. A tour through the beautiful rooms of the museum is a tour through 500 years of Danish history, illustrated by portraits, history paintings, furniture and decorative art. Here you encounter people and events that have shaped Danish history from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. Frederiksborg Castle is a unique place for superb cultural experiences, scenic walks and boat tours.
