Romantik Hotel Europe inhabits part of Utoschloss, a ballustraded neo-Baroque castle with views south to Lake Zurich and north to wooded mountain Züriberg. The hotel feels like a grand home. It’s stately without being staid, however, exudes creaky old-world charm with its striped wallpaper, antique furniture and glass chandeliers. Most of the 39 rooms have a balcony. Hotel restaurant Quaglinos is proud of its 1920s French bistro look with its leather panelling, mirrors and checked napkins.
