Built for the 1972 Summer Olympics by Günther Behmisch, Frei Otto & Partners and became world-known mainly because of the futuristic tent-like roof construction. The park has a number of sporting facilities, as well as a large park, lake, Olympia Tower (291 m) and aquarium Sea Life. The focal point is Olympia Hill, providing a great view over Munich, and in good weather to the Alps. The park is a venue of concerts and summer festivals.
