Known as the Blue Mosque because of blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design. In the 17th century, Sultan Ahmet I wished to build an Islamic place of worship that would be even better than the Hagia Sophia, and the mosque named for him is the result. Mosque comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasa and a hospice. Besides being a tourist attraction, it's also an active mosque, so during the prayer time it's closed for non-worshippers.

Incredibly impressive from outside but also the interior is magnificent. You have to put off your shoes and let outside. Then you can sit on the red carpet and relax. Fabulous chandellier above you and peace....Wonderful!
