Solo Sokos Hotel Torni
Solo Sokos Hotel Torni
Yrjönkatu 26, Helsinki, Finland
It was built in 1931 as Helsinki’s tallest 12-storeys building and exudes character. Although situated in a relatively quiet backstreet, the Torni is very central being just 10 minutes on foot from the main railway station. The Art Nouveau theme is most conspicuous in the wallpaper motifs and furniture of the Kylikki wing that was built in 1903 and predates the main hotel. Rooms in the tower section from floors 7 to 11 are not big but decorated in bright, light tones and offer great city views. Single rooms have shower only and larger rooms have baths. The Torni’s three bars are some of the best-known in Helsinki.
