The Belvedere is a Baroque complex consisting of two palaces (the Upper and Lower Belvedere), the Orangery, the Palace Stables and museum. The garden boasts by decorative fountains and cascades, sculptures, and monumental iron gates. The palace complex was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy in years 1714–1723. The Upper Belvedere features the world's largest Klimt collection, including the famous paintings "The Kiss" and "Judith". Masterpieces by Schiele and Kokoschka, as well as works of French Impressionism and the Vienna Biedermeier era round out the exhibition. Prince Eugene’s apartments and staterooms are located at the Lower Belvedere.
