A true Art Deco masterpiece (the collums are painted by such artists as Brancusi and Chagall), La Coupole is the famous brasserie. It is the symbol of Montparnasse's history, as well as a key component of the art of living and socialising in Paris. The reason for visiting this enormous, 450-seat brasserie, designed by the Solvet brothers and opened in 1927, is more history than gastronomy.
