Palmengarten

Palmengarten
Siesmayerstraße 61, 60323 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Located in the Westend-Süd district, the Palmengarten (22 hectares) is the largest botanical garden in Germany. Like many public sites in Frankfurt, it was privately financed and founded by the architect Heinrich Siesmayer. It was completed in 1871. One of the famous visitors was the American adventurer Buffalo Bill. Directly next to the Palmengarten is the Frankfurt Botanical Garden. The exhibits are organized according to their origin in free-air or climatized greenhouses, which also contain numerous tropical and subtropical plants.
