Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris
Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris
6 Parvis Notre-Dame - Pl. Jean-Paul II, 75004 Paris
Located on the island Île de la Cité, the cathedral is the masterpiece of Gothic art and the symbolic heart of the city. It was built 182 years, from 1163 to 1345. The interior, which was demolished during the Revolution, was restored in 19. century thanks to the writer Victor Hugo who with his book 'Notre-Dame de Paris', made the Parisians realise the cathedral was worth. Another restoration was 1991-2001. Don´t miss the opportunity to go up to one of two towers in order to admire the gargoyles of the cathedral, roofs of Paris and islands in Seine.
