Park Güell

Park Güell, Carrer d'Olot, Barcelona

The extraordinary craftsmanship, unusual use of materials and plants throughout the park catch and delight the eye, making Güell one of the most remarkable parks of the world. Designed by Antoni Gaudi and built between 1900-1914, it is one of his 7 works listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. It is set into the hills overlooking Barcelona. Serpentine terraces, seats, galleries and acrades run with the mountainside. They are decorated with polychrome mosaics of broken stone, ceramic pots and old tiles.

We took a taxi to park Guell because we heard that it is quite a long and steep way if we use metro, about 20 min. walking. One ticket cost 8 Euros but the park is an unbelievable, absolutely unique place which has no parallel in the world! And if you are first time in BCN for sure you must see it!

The Park is an amazing one but you have to take a taxi or walk forever to get there. But it is totally worth it you can walk around the park and see most of everything without paying but I thought it was crazy you had to pay to walk on top of the exhibit. However it was still a must see.
