Neuschwanstein Castle (out of Munich)

Neuschwansteinstraße 20, 87645 Schwangau, Germany

Built between 1869-1886 in a magnificent landscape of the Alps (near Füssen) for „Mad“ King Ludwig II to fulfill his dreams of his self-importance and greatness. While it looks like a medieval castle, it was equiped inside with state of the art technology at that time. E.g. on every floor there were toilets with automatic flushing system, as well as an air heating system for the whole castle. The castle inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom.

Castle Neuschwanstein is one of three castles built for King Ludwig II. This white and dream-like fortress was erected 1869 by sketches of a theatrical decorator and has a fairy-tale atmosphere.
