The monastery is located in a lovely, peaceful courtyard near Prague Castle. It is a wonderful place especially for book-lovers! The historic library (from 12 cent.) with a beautifully painted ceiling is fascinating. The oldest book, which you can find there, is Gospel hand-written by monks in the 9th century. The monastery you can reach either from Petrin park (but it is quite demanding walk up to the hill) or more comfortable way by tram no. 22 to the station „Pohořelec“. It is nice to make a stop in Monk´s brewery. The panoramatic view behind the monastery is breathtaking. I think it´s one of the best in Prague.
